Founded by some of the world's leading academics in mitochondrial biology, Pretzel Therapeutics currently has operations at two sites, Gothenburg, Sweden and Waltham, Massachusetts, USA. In 2023, the Swedish team will move into a new 700 square meter office and lab environment located in the multitenant signature building GoCo House in the heart of GoCo Health Innovation City. From the new location, Pretzel Therapeutics will continue its development of groundbreaking solutions for the treatment of mitochondrial diseases.
Pretzel Therapeutics is developing innovative therapies by harnessing the intricacies of mitochondrial biology. Mitochondria can be described as the cells' power source and dysfunctional mitochondria are involved in more than 50 diseases, including several severe genetic diseases and many age-related disorders. The company’s upcoming move to GoCo Health Innovation City will provide the space and amenities to allow Pretzel to continue to grow and pursue creation of "first-in-class" drugs that tackle mitochondrial dysfunction.

GoCo House is now entering the final phase of construction and is expected to be ready for occupancy in the spring of 2023. The interest in the signature building has been high and both the coworking and office / research areas are now beginning to be filled to a large extent. The key has been to create an area with environments and businesses that will unanimously appeal to researchers, entrepreneurs, and promising talents from all over the world.
