Last week Business Region Gothenburg invited the delegation of Minister-President of Flanders to discuss collaboration opportunities in Gothenburg. The Gothenburg region is especially attractive since it is home to global industrial brands such as AstraZeneca and is characterised by a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
One of the meetings took place at GoCo Health Innovation City to demonstrate the benefits of strengthened collaboration between academia and industry, such as the establishment of a new health innovation cluster. In partnership with AstraZeneca, we are now taking the next leap to develop the new Gothenburg Life Science Ecosystem.
"It is extremely valuable for us that the delegation decided to visit GoCo. Collaboration is already built into our core values, so we cannot wait to see what is to come," says Marie Uddenmy, Community Manager at GoCo Health Innovation City.
"The Gothenburg region is growing rapidly with innovative businesses pushing boundaries on an everyday basis. I hope the delegation enjoyed their day and was inspired by the spirit of innovation that the city, and our arena, can provide," she added.
Among the guests were Katarina Ageborg, EVP, Sustainability and Chief Compliance Officer & President AstraZeneca AB, Matti Ahlqvist, Site Executive Director, Magnus Björsne, CEO AstraZeneca BioVentureHub AB and Anders Persson, Executive Director Ecosystem Strategy and Innovation.
