The journey of GoCo Health Innovation City started with global, science-led, pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announcing that they were looking to sell some of their land connecting to their site in Gothenburg. The requirement to buy was that the new owner would continue to add value to the already existing health ecosystem within the region. Two actors were best suited. With an ambitious vision our owners Next Step Group and Vectura Fastigheter decided to join forces and create GoCo Health Innovation City in a joint venture.

Today, GoCo Health Innovation City is in full construction. The 21 000 square meter large signature building GoCo House opened in February 2023. GoCo House is a multi-tenant building designed for collaboration and spontaneous meetings between people with plenty of social areas across the first two floors. The building has facilities such as conference area, various meeting rooms, restaurant and café.

The first neighborhood will be fully constructed in 2025. Already next visionary area is being mapped out for future development.

By bringing different worlds, fields, and people together we facilitate a space for inspiring collaboration and co-innovation. We do this by change, challenge, and coopetition.
