Empowering women's week 2026

Empowering Women’s Week is an annual initiative at GoCo Health Innovation City that brings together voices from research, industry, civil society and lived experience to explore the many dimensions of women’s lives.
Throughout the week, conversations unfolded around women’s health, leadership, innovation, safety and societal responsibility.
Creating a space where knowledge, reflection and personal stories could meet.
What makes Empowering Women’s Week unique is the breadth of perspectives. The program moved between science and storytelling, structural challenges and individual experiences, reminding us that empowerment is never one-dimensional. It exists at the intersection of health, culture, leadership and everyday life. Several sessions highlighted the persistent knowledge gaps surrounding women’s health. Discussions explored how medical research, healthcare systems and societal norms have historically overlooked many aspects of women’s experiences. The conversations underscored the importance of increasing awareness, strengthening research and creating more open dialogue to improve health outcomes and ensure that women’s needs are better understood and addressed. At the same time, the week created room for deeply personal reflections. During the session Inspirational Voices, participants shared life journeys shaped by resilience, uncertainty and courage. Their stories reminded the audience that empowerment is not only about policies or positions of power — it is also about human experiences, vulnerability and the strength that grows through adversity.

Other sessions explored empowerment in practice. From learning basic self-defence techniques to discussing
innovation designed specifically for women, participants
gained insights into how safety, technology and inclusive design
can contribute to better health, confidence and quality of life.
Perhaps the most important outcome of Empowering Women’s Week
was the conversations it sparked. By bringing together
diverse perspectives and addressing topics that are often overlooked, the week created
a platform for curiosity, understanding and collective responsibility.
Because meaningful change rarely happens in isolation. It begins when people gather, share knowledge,
challenge assumptions — and leave the room with new insights, new questions and a stronger commitment
to creating a more inclusive future.
